One of the most important parts of any loft conversion is the positioning, style and look of the staircase to give access to your living space, and in most cases a permanent staircase is required.

The construction of the new staircase takes place in the middle of the loft conversion process and our team of expert architects and designers will help you plan exactly where the staircase will be, taking into account the available space and strict building regulations.

The design of the staircase depends on working around any awkward spaces, but how you want it to look is entirely up to you. The design needs to be detailed in building plans and the staircase should be wide enough to allow safe passage and be adequately lit as well as meeting all other building regulations. The choice is yours

We are able to build bespoke staircases for any loft conversion in a traditional, contemporary or even spiral design.

Our qualified electrician and plumber will ensure that any potential obstructions, such as wires are re-routed to where they will be needed. Once that’s complete we will make the opening in the loft before installing the sides of the staircase. Steps are then made, with a minimum depth of 220mm, before a newel post is installed. Handrails are fitted (depending on the design) and any partitions are plastered. The final step is decoration.
